Oil Filtration/Purification
Oil Filtration
A machine can work no better than the maintenance afforded it. Lubricants (Engine oil, hydraulic oil gear oil, steering oil etc.) are unavoidably contaminated during its circulation in the system. Dirts are removed by use of filters and lubricant change at regular intervals.
If filter is left in service for too long, it may become blocked. When this happens the buildup of pressure inside the filter forces open a spring-loaded relief valve in the housing. The valve prevents system failure but will be lubricated with dirty oil.
At Indigo Separation Solutions, we stock wide selection of genuine machinery filter. We also provide custom made filters to suit Client’s application.
Oil/Fuel Purification
Typical Oil filters have micron rating of 25-30 microns, therefore ordinary filter media cannot remove the particles that do the most damage.
Sharp, abrasive carbon soot, dirt, and other impurities as fine as one tenth of a micron can wear away metal parts
Effective filtration mechanism is therefore critical to achieving desired engine life which is achieved through utilization of pressure-powered Glacier centrifuge in conjunction with typical oil filters.
Glacier centrifuge removes solids from lube mixtures, fuels and all types of oils utilizing application of stokes law for separation.
Operating principle
- Oil flows into the centrifuge up to the center spindle and filling the turbine assembly
- Oil escapes through opposite jets creating a thrust and causing turbine to rotate at speeds 3,500 to 7,500 rpm
- This rotation generates 2,500 to 3,000 g’s causing abrasive debris and combustion dirt to cling to the outside of turbine bowl
- Dirt accumulated in the bowl is removed by hand at service
